Looking for information on my grandfather, John Wilfred Grimbeck, who married my grandmother in Kenya in the 1920's. On my mother's birth certificate in 1929 he was described as a " Colonial Farmer". Understand his father was E J A Grimbeck who with his family settled in Rumuruti in Kenya around 1905. Apparently the first store in Rumuruti was built on Grimbeck land around 1920 and EJA is noted as the first postmaster.

Mrs EJ A Grimbeck was killed by the Mau Mau. Apart from all I know is that the family came to Kenya from South Africa. Have been " hunting" for information for almost 20 years.... very frustrating !
