Roderick ( Jasper ) Steele

 

 

Father, William Steele went out to BEA in 1924 with the Standard Bank of South Africa. After a spell in

 

Uganda he was moved to Kenya where he met his mother Dorothy Grant. They had two boys, Lachlan

 

(Lanny) who died in Canada in 2002, and little Jasper. His parents retired to the UK in 1969 after a

 

post-retirement two year stint helping to set up the Bank of Uganda.
